GTM Quick Basic Setup

Type "GTM Template - Basic Setup + Lead Gen" in Container name and select "Web"

Click "x" to remove the pop-up after creation of the new container

Select on "Constant" in the right navigation

Rename the Variable to "GA4 Measurement Id"

Go to Built-In Variables and Click on "Configure"

Enable all variables under "Scrolling" then click "x" to exit and enable selected variables

Click anywhere in Trigger Configuration and select on "Just Links"

Select All Link Clicks and rename trigger to "Click - All Link Clicks"

Check Vertical Scroll Depths and enter "10,25,50,75,90" under selected Percentages

Add the {{GA4 Measurement Id" variable in the Tag ID field

Type "send_page_view" or type "send" and click on "send_page_view"

In Trigger, click on "Initialization - All Pages"

Rename the Google Tag to "GA4 - Pageview"

Add the {{GA4 Measurement Id" variable in the Measurement ID field

Type "scroll" in Event name and click on Event Parameters

Click on "{{Scroll Depth Threshold}}" in value

Click on Triggers and click the created trigger for "Scroll Depth"

Click on "New" to add another GA4 Event for Clicks

Add the {{GA4 Measurement Id}} variable in the Measurement ID field

Type "click" in the Event Name and click on the Event Parameters

Click on "Add parameter" 5 times to add 5 link parameters

In each Event Parameter, add "link_text", "link_url", "link_id", "link_classes" and "link_element"

In the value fields, type "{{" to select the corresponding variables

Add the corresponding variables for each - "{{Click Text}}", "{{Click URL}}", "{{Click ID}}", "{{Click Classes}}" and "{{Click Element}}"

Add a Trigger and Click on "Click - All Link Clicks"

To add a trigger for a lead generation, click on "Triggers"

Select "Page URL" and "contains" in the condition

Type the url for the optin or thank you page in the field that you can change for later use

Rename the trigger to "Pageview - Lead Gen"

Click on "New" to create a Tag for Generate Lead

Add the "{{GA4 Measurement Id}}" variable in the Measurement ID field

Add trigger and click on "Pageview - lead_gen"

Once everything is created, organized Tags, Triggers and Variables by adding in a Folder. Click on "Folders"

Give a Folder name "GTM Basic Setup" and Click on "Create"

Select the Unfiled items and check all the items under it

Click "Move" dropdown to move the items in the created folder for "GTM Basic Setup"

Go back to Tags and check the "GA4 - generate_lead"

To Import your exported container in a new container, Click on "Admin"

Preview the Tags, Triggers and Variables and click on "Confirm"
